Metal head protection enveloping the head and part of the neck. Could have a camail, or mail curtain hanging from the edge, to protect the neck more fully.
Metal hat with a brim, similar to the Fench 'Montaubain', usually used by medieval infantry. Despite King Fernando's 1373 military equipment reforms, the capelina remained popular in Portugal till the 15th century, especially among the lower infantry.
