  1. (1342-1375) Son of Alfonso XI of Castile and Leonor de Guzmán, the king's mistress.
  2. Brother of Enrique Count of Trastámara, and half-brother of Pedro of Castile, who persecuted him and all the Guzmán offspring.
  3. Married Princess Beatriz, daughter of Pedro I of Portugal and Inês de Castro, as established in the peace treaty of Santarém (1373) between Fernando of Portugal and Enrique II of Castile.
  4. Pedro IV of Aragon agreed to hand him over to Pedro of Castile in exchange for the Aragonese towns he had taken during his 1361 invasion of Aragon. [Pedro, ch. 32: 58-60]
  5. Guarantor of the Luso-Castilian Treaty of Alcoutim (1371) on behalf of his brother, Enrique II of Castile.
