- (? - 1419) Son of Rui Peres da Fonseca of the Order of Santiago.
- Belonged to the Portuguese Fonseca family, member of the regional nobility based in the region of Olivença.
- Appointed governor of Olivença by King Fernando of Portugal. He was still the governor of Olivença when King João I of Portugal besieged the town in 1388. [João2, ch. 137]
- Remained loyal to Beatriz, King Fernando's daughter, and, therefore, the Castilian faction during the 1383-1385 dynastic crisis and after.
- Did not participate in the Battle of Aljubarrota because he was defending Olivença from Portuguese attacks, which prolonged for another year. His loyalty was recompensed by Juan I and Juan II.
- Died in Toro, a retreat for many Portuguese families that had remained loyal to Beatriz and Juan I as the true heirs of the Portuguese crown.
