Guy of Boulogne, Cardinal

  1. (1313-1373) Son of Count Robert VII of Boulogne and Auvergne, and was known and the 'Cardinal of Boulogne'.
  2. He was Archbishop of Lyon, Cardinal of St. Cecile, and Cardinal-Bishop of Porto and Santa Rufina, Italy..
  3. He served as papal legate with several peace missions between warring monarcs in Western Europe. Served the Avignon Papacy for over thirty years.
  4. Between 1359-1361 he was the papal legate attempting an end to the war between Castile and Aragon.
  5. Was sent to Castile to attempt an end to hostilities between Enrique II and Fernando of Portugal (1372). [Fernando, ch.71: 16-35, ch. 82: 1-27]
