Navas de Sevilla

Alias

  • Also: Nauas de Seuylha
  1. Could not be identified, but it must be a few miles East of Rio Frio. [João2, ch.175: 23]
  2. Place named along with Aroche, Cortegana, Aracena and Río Frío. Navas de Sevilla is the next place in this alignment of towns, part of a route of incursions used by the Portuguese into Castile. It seems to be a place in the district of Seville. We checked Navas de la Concepción de Sevilla, but the foundation dates from the 16th century. Before that the area was known as an empty heath. [João2, ch.175: 23]
