- Is a medieval city and wine region in the autonomous community of Aragon, NE modern Spain.
- When Pedro of Castile took the town during his war with Aragon, he had all the inhabitants executed. According to Fernão Lopes, this was an act of revenge for the insults the people of Cariñena had hurled at him and his army during his first failed attempt to besiege the town.
