  1. Capital of the modern province of Vizcaya, Basque Country, Northern Spain.
  2. Town founded by Don Diego López de Haro (1300), in the reign of Fernando IV of Castile.
  3. It became a port of considerable importance for trade with Flanders, England, France, Portugal, as well as other Southern and Eastern ports in Castile and Aragón.
