Pierre de Vilaines

  1. (c.1330-1406) Known as 'le Bègue', the Stammerer of Vilaines. A person of humble origins as a member of the lesser nobility in France, is latter appointed high office: Senescal of Toulouse and Carcassone (1360-1362); Chamberlain to Charles V and Charles VI of France.
  2. Becomes one of the famous personal counsellors of Charles VI, known as the "Marmousets" (1388).
  3. Hero of the Hundred Years War and companion of Bertrand Du Guesclin.
  4. Supported Enrique de Trastámara during his campaing for the crown of Castile. [Fernando, ch. 16: 19]
