- Married Álvaro Dias de Sousa, her first husband. From this marriage was born Lopo Dias de Sousa, future Master of the Order of Christ.
- Married Prince João, her second husband in 1376. He was the son of King pedro of Portugal and Dona Inês de Castro, also the half-brother of João Master of Avis. Maria was killed by her husband in 1379, leaving a son from this marriage, Prince Fernando, Lord of Eça.
