Lopo Martins

  1. One of the first two executives of "Companhia das Naus", the maritime company established by King Fernando of Portugal (1380). The other was Gonçalo Peres Canelas.
  2. The company functioned as an insurance company mainly for large trade ships, of over 42 tons, known as 'carracks' .
