Jean de Murat de Cros, Cardinal-bishop of Palestrina

  1. (? - 1383) Nephew of Pope Gregory XI.
  2. Son of Aymar de Murat de Cros and of Marie de Montclar. Brother of Pierre de Murat de Cros, later Archbishop of Arles.
  3. Cardinal-bishop of Palestrina (1376).
  4. After Pope Gregory XI died, Jean de Cors supported Pope Urban VI, but later on he joined the Antipope Clement VII and became his legate in France.
