Count of Foix

  1. Gaston Fébus, also Gaston III, Count of Foix-Béarn (1331-1391), with vast estates on the Western Pyrenees.
  2. Outstanding warrior and war contractor who led mercenary companies in Aragon and Navarre. Sustained a long rivalry with the Armagnacs coming out the victor.
  3. He was quite wealthy and a great patron of the arts. Author of the Livre de Chasse (1387).
