An "honest Lisbon merchant" appointed by King Fernando as treasurer of the vast amount of gold entrusted to Count João Afonso Telo to negotiate with the King of Aragon the terms of the war to be waged on Enrique II of Castile (1370). The money was to be used for expenses in Aragon, to finance 1,500 lancers for six months, and to encourage the King of Aragon to agree on a marriage alliance between his daughter Leonor and King Fernando.
