Egidio Boccanegra, Admiral of Castile

  1. (?-1367) Admiral of Castile. Brother of Simone Boccanegra, the first Doge of Genoa. 
  2. Was at the service of Pedro of Castile, but later betrayed him as the king fled to Portugal with his daughters to escape Enrique de Trastámara's advancing army across the kingdom. [Pedro, ch. 37: 44-50] 
  3. Was executed in 1367. His son Ambrogio Boccanegra became the next Admiral of Castile, though at the service of Enrique II.
