- Castellan. (CW) [Fernando, ch. 28; CKJ1, ch. 97]
- Person in charge of guarding the castle and convent of Avis. It is supposed that he could assume the duties of the comendador-mor in his absence. As far as we are aware, there was only one 'Craveiro de Avis', who was Brother Garcia Peres do Campo (14th century). This scant information is not enough to understand what the duties of a 'craveiro' used to be in the Military Order of Avis.
