Coimbra

  1. Main city in the central region of Portugal. Location of the University of Coimbra founded in 1290.
  2. One of the more frequent places of residence of Portuguese medieval kings.
  3. Place where Inês de Castro, the mistress of Pedro of Portugal while still a prince, was killed by consent of Alfonso IV, the prince's father.

  5. Place where King Pedro of Portugal called many witnesses to confirm he had, in fact, married Inês de Castro.
