Bouça

  1. This is a difficult location to identify. "Bouça" means a piece of land with scrub vegetation, and there are several places with the same name. One can assume it is a location in the parish of Lordelo, in the concelho and district of Vila Real, because Bouça and Lordelo were on one occasion given to Queen Leonor Teles's nephew.
  2. Bouça and Lordelo were given by the Master of Avis, later King João I, to Dom Martinho, son of Count Gonçalo Teles, Leonor Teles's brother, in exchange for the count's support for the Master's cause. [CDJI, i, ch.123]
