- Town between Sintra and Lisbon, Portugal.
- In 1334, the Paço de Belas, or Palace of Belas, belonged to Duarte Lopes Pacheco. He was expropriated by King Pedro when he ran away to Castile following the murder of Dona Inês de Castro. The property was returned to its former owner in the reign of of King Fernando, but expropriated once more by King João I, owing to suspicions of treason.
- King João I offered the Paço de Belas to his counselor, Gonçalo Peres, but from 1412 the property was reacquired by the crown and entrusted to his children, known as the Avis princes.
