- Was sent by King Pedro of Portugal to assist his nephew, Pedro of Castile, in the siege of Tarazona. He took with him 500 well-equipped men, amongst them knights and squires, including Martim Vasques de Góis, Gonçalo Mendes de Vasconcelos, Martim Afonso de Melo, Álvaro Gonçalves de Moura, Nuno Viegas the Elder, and Rui Vasques Ribeira.
