Gabriele Adorno, 4th Doge of Genoa

  1. Gabriele Adorno (1320-1398), 4th Doge of Genoa (1363-1370) and successor to Simone Bocanegra's second mandate.
  2. Writes personally to King Pedro of Portugal, pleading for the forgiveness and release of Lançarote Pessanha, the Admiral of the Portuguese fleet, who had been sentenced to death for his sexual indiscretions. Lançarote Pessanha's father was Emanuele Pessagno, the Genoese Admiral of King Dinis of Portugal (c.1320-1325).
