Álvaro Pereira

1. Vassal of King Pedro of Portugal.
2. Witnessed King Pedro in Cantanhede swearing on the Gospels that he had married Dona Inês de Castro. [Pedro, ch. 27: 22].
3. Son of Rui Gonçalves Pereira, the illegimate half-brother of the Archbishop of Braga Gonçalo Pereira (d. 1345). Both his brothers Gonçalo Pereira and Rui Pereira were also at the court of King Fernando.
4. Some historians also identify this Álvaro Pereira with the homonymous marshal (marechal) of the armies of king Fernando I (died 1386).
