- Modern Gardamar del Segura. Town in southern Valencia, by the mouth of the river Segura.
- Famous for strong Easterly winds carrying considerable amounts of sand.
- In the reign of Pedro of Castile it belonged to Don Fernando, Count of Tortosa, but the king took it in retaliation for Don Fernando's invasion of Murcia. Don Fernando's invasion was motivated by Pedro's killing of Don Juan, Prince of Aragon, and Fernando's brother. [Pedro, ch. 22: 27]
